Charlie the Great Oak of Shawneeland Falls
A 2022 costal age tale chronicles the 300 year life of Charlie the white oak near St. John's Lutheran Church in Shawneeland Virginia. The 6 foot trunk collapse ended a landmark tree that withstood centuries of war and change. Pittenger and Mahoney plan to mill Charlie's timber and plant clones across the 15 acre parcel.
