COVID-19 updates from Lord Fairfax Health District
The district logged 38 new cases on April 28 and 41 on April 30, with a May 17 peak of 93 and four later spikes above 100 totaling 484. Dr. Charles Devine notes the BA.5 variant is more transmissible but less severe, while vaccination and boosters remain key as hospitals see rising but manageable patient loads.
