Library backers push Warren County budget increase
Warren County budget hearing drew 22 speakers with 14 citing Samuels Public Library. The library sought about 1.1 million dollars, a 204,547 dollar rise or 22.46 percent, as outside agencies requested funding.

Council Rejects Tax Rate Increase For 2016 17
The Front Royal Town Council voted to keep the real estate tax rate at 13 cents per $100 of assessed value, rejecting a 14 cent increase that would have raised about $125,000 for police funding. The vote secured the supermajority needed to maintain the current rate.

Warren Memorial Hospital hosts Community Safety and Wellness Expo
More than 70 health and wellness agencies will offer free screenings at Warren County High School from 8 a.m. to noon Saturday. Drug Indictments Dominate Warren County Grand Jury
Warren County grand jury this month indicted 18 people with 10 facing drug charges. Six of the drug cases involve heroin possession or distribution. Police say narcotics abuse remains a major issue in the Front Royal area.

Sentinel staff earns Best In Show at VPA awards
The Warren Sentinel staff collected ten awards at the Virginia Press Association conference in Short Pump, including eight news honors with a Best In Show for non daily artwork and two advertising awards.
