Fire Destroys Several Buildings in Necedah Town Center
A large daytime fire in Necedah Wisconsin damaged seven wooden business structures in the town center near W A Reed's drug store. Firefighters worked through the night with citizen help to prevent total destruction. Reed's stock and the damaged rental property led to concerns about wider losses.
Major Fire Ravages Nevedah Stores and Homes
A devastating blaze in Nevedah destroyed multiple buildings. KE. S. Miner’s books and stationery worth about 1000 were lost, with partial insurance. Thomas Weston owned the first building valued at 3000 and T. M. Cranfield operated a galoon, with part of his saloon saved. H. F. Young's furniture store suffered about 2500 in losses, with 1600 insured. The Norsk store owned by Sam Hiles and rented by F. Hurd was destroyed. Hurd insured, Hiles around 1200 uninsured. One small dwelling burned, valued near 500. The fire driven by wind swept to Armstrong House. cause remains unknown with incendiary theories common.
