Editors Tour Grand Forks at North Dakota Press Association Meet

More than 200 North Dakota editors and spouses were hosted by Grand Forks during the state press convention. The event featured tours, hospitalities, fund drives for a bulletin, memorial tributes to John F. Haskett, and a packed program on circulation, advertising, and editorial pages. Attendees enjoyed hotel welcomes, speeches, and an university supper with toasts.

Wife of Ryder Doctor Ends Life in Morning Tragedy

Mrs J H Griffin wife of a Ryder physician killed herself at 7 30 am by firing a target pistol shot through the head. She was alone and died instantly leaving three notes. A laborer reported the tragedy to a gathered crowd at the Griffin home.

Lay Convention Opens at Zion Lutheran Church

The lay convention of Lutheran bodies in the state opened at Zion Lutheran Church this morning with about 180 delegates arriving. Rev. Dixson of Kenmare conducted the morning service and Rev. Lonne of Bethania led the afternoon service. The Ladies Aid served dinners and suppers in the church basement, and the public is invited to attend.

Johnsons gift 99 year land lease to Ward County Old Settlers

James Johnson presented No Man's Land to the Ward County Old Settlers Association as a ninety nine year lease ensuring the land remains in Mrs. Johnson’s name for about a century. The event drew large crowds during a two week camp gathering as families and relatives from Montana attended.
