Thomaston Man Fatally Injured In Germany

Cpl. Kenneth E. Sager of Thomaston died August 31 at a Munich military hospital from injuries in a motor boat accident on Lake Amersee near Munich. He was born September 1, 1929, attended local schools, enlisted January 18, 1947, and served as a installer repairman. He is survived by his mother and five siblings. Eight Building Permits Approved by City Council

City council approves eight permits totaling an estimated 6225 dollars for projects including garages additions and signs. A 2 2 tie halted one Neault submission pending review of structure and traffic hazard concerns. City Postpones Coal Purchasing

The city postponed buying its 350 tons of stoker coal and 50 tons of lump coal after bids sparked an argument between Wakefield Lumber and Michela Company representatives at the City Council meeting. Miss Millicent Johns Weds Irving Roberts at Chippewa Falls Church

A candlelight ceremony at First Methodist Church Chippewa Falls Wisconsin united Miss Millicent Johns daughter of Mr and Mrs Raymond Johns and Irving Richard Roberts son of Mr and Mrs in Appleton Wisconsin. Rev Finch and Ortmayer officiated. Reception followed at Elk's Club with 150 guests before a Lake region honeymoon and return to Appleton Wisconsin. Both couple attended Lawrence College and plan to reside at 1100 West Eldorado Street Appleton Wisconsin. Street Repair Debate Erupts At City Council Meeting

Officials Tour Mines Across Cleveland Figures Inspect Plymouth and Sunday Lake

A Cleveland led delegation with Howard Prescott Herman Bert Jackson and others from Pickands Mather visited Wakefield to inspect the Plymouth and Sunday Lake mines. The group included Joseph Bellar from Youngstown Sheet and Tube and Arthur Peterson from Bethlehem Steel along with Duluth executives and geologists. They toured Iron River district mines before reaching Gogebic range.
