Mr and Mrs Larry Mastalish and children visited relatives in honor of Thanksgiving. Mary Kaye Jarvi from Northern Michigan University joined her parents Joe Callabro. Gust Seppa returned from Pulaski with daughter Arlove Tetzlaff. Numerous relatives and friends from Hibbing Marquette and beyond shared meals and visits during the holiday.
Edward and Ann Lane were feted at the American Legion Hall on their thirtieth wedding anniversary with about 400 guests. A buffet lunch, cake inscribed Happy Anniversary Ann and Ham, and dancing by son in law and daughter Chet Benson and family marked the celebration. The couple, married Feb 7 1943 in Chicago, have eight children and eight grandchildren.
Mr and Mrs John Petroff marked their fiftieth wedding anniversary with a party at 301 Nunemacher Street on Saturday November 24 Guests including neighbors relatives and friends brought cards gifts and a social lunch followed. The former Rose Dennis wed Mr Petroff on November 24 1923 at St Agnes Church Crystal Falls with Rev Kunes officiating. They moved to Wakefield in 1930 and have three daughters nine grandchildren and one great grandson.
Civic, service and cultural groups are asked to appoint representatives to Edna Smith Marliata Everson or Carl Snare to form a planning committee. The event will feature ice and snow sculptures on land by Sunday Lake with prizes, photography and rules to be set.

She married James Delmet in 1923, he died 1941. married George Grigson in 1944, he died 1962. Survived by son James Delmet Gwinn daughter Mrs Fred Sandquist Ramsay five grandchildren two great grandchildren sister Mrs Henry Carew Dearborn and brothers Carroll Wakefield Harry Plainfield Wis. Funeral Wednesday at Immanuel Lutheran Wakefield with Rev Gary Park. Burial Lakeside Cemetery. Regular worship Sunday 10:30 a.m. Sunday School 9 p.m. No Holy Communion Saturday. Children’s choir practice Tuesday 3:20 p.m. directed by Mrs John Geroux and accompanist Mrs V EuGene Hanson.
