City clerk Margaret Williams notifies Wakefield voters that under Public Act 85 registrations will be cancelled if no vote within two years. December notices will advise eligible residents to apply for continuation of registration by returning the attached card.

Mr and Mrs George Corolewski announce the engagement of their daughter Patricia Ann to Robert J McGuire son of Mr and Mrs Sam B McGuire Marshall Minnesota Miss Corolewski teaches arts at Penn Junior High Minneapolis He is with the law firm Nordaunt Walstead Cousineau and McGuire Minneapolis They attended Wisconsin State College Superior and University of Minnesota For Mr McGuire College of St Thomas and University of Minnesota Law School Minneapolis Wedding plans are indefinite.
The Luther Leaguers of First Lutheran Church in Wakefield host a Sunday rally on November 24 at 2 30 p m EST. Rev Leonard Johnson will give a message for youth and JoAnn Perry invites Range youth to attend this inspirational event.
November birthdays at Gogebic Hospital honored residents Eric Anderson Kathyrn Carlson Bert Garland Josephine Guazzoni Anna Vargovich Felix Zion August Heranen Lillian Yeo Mayme Tomasi and Wakefield Woman Club members served cake. Assisted by Gray Ladies, the event occurred on November 15 with one birthday served per month.
The Post Office will be closed Thursday November 28 for Thanksgiving with no city or rural delivery and no window service. The lobby will operate 10:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.

Word has been received of the death of Mrs Sophie Seppanen 84 of Mohawk well known here Funeral services were held Wednesday at Mohawk A sister Mrs Anna Salmi Wakefield has been at Mohawk the past two weeks having been called there because of her sisters illness Mrs Reino Salmi and Mrs Nels Seppa attended the rites Mrs Joseph Sanchez and son Ricky returned to their home in Sullivan Mo after spending a week visiting her parents Mr and Mrs Celest Buccanero and other relatives and friends
The Wakefield PTA Christmas Fair is set for Monday December 9 at 7 30 p m in the high school gym. A program featuring church and school choirs opens the event followed by country tables with chairmen for American Baltic Canada Finland Germany Italian Poland and Sweden booths plus Candy Gift and Club Scouts tables. A wreath making work bee is planned December 5 with further volunteer days December 7 8 and 9.
Immanuel Lutheran Church Women schedule their general meeting for Monday at 7 30 p m in the church parlors. The Deborah Guild will present with guest speaker Rev Winifred Loomis of Bessemer Presbyterian Church discussing Hawaii with slides from her teaching trip. Hostesses listed and donations for the Thanksgiving Basket welcomed.

Mayor Emil Movrich reports to the City Council on offering the Memorial Community Building for Gogebic Community College. He cites other sites and notes a possibility of a new building if no site is acceptable. The council discusses finances, bills, and a potential library move, plus new public works equipment and street lighting upgrades.
Axel Tepsa 83 of Fairview Apt 59 Bessemer died Saturday at Divine Infant Hospital after a week as a patient. Born August 31 1880 in Oulun Laani Finland he came to the United States in 1920 settling in Hancock then Pelkie where he married Susanna Helberg in 1941. He moved to Wakefield and later to Bessemer. He was a retired woodsman and member of First Lutheran Church. Surviving wife two stepdaughters and a stepson. Services at First Lutheran Tuesday at 2 pm conducted by Rev Rudolf Kemppainen burial at Lakeside Cemetery. Lt Col James Scott and son James and daughter Diana of Eglin Air Force Base Florida visiting relatives and deer hunting.
