Gogebic and nearby counties backed a plan at Munising to obtain a $2,000,000 Reconstruction Finance Corporation work relief loan for trunk line highway betterment and relief employment in the Upper Peninsula. The resolution asks Highway Commissioner Dillman to petition Governor Brucker and arrange funds in three quarterly blocks for January to October 1933.

The board of supervisors approved adopting Cheney Lake road as an extension of M-28 from Wakefield to the Wisconsin state line, a unanimous vote. November term calendar set for Bessemer circuit court
A total of 161 cases are on the calendar for the opening of the November term of circuit court at Bessemer on November 28. The day will hear motions and arrange the calendar as jurors are called for service on November 29. The term is expected to run into January. Included are liquor law violations, robbery and larceny hearings, and 15 law issues. Eight chancery actions include contests of the MecNitt law on township road seizure, and more than sixty long-pending cases await progress.

Rummel House Case At City Commission Meeting
At the regular city commission session on Wednesday the Rummel house matter was discussed and disposed of. The city clerk was instructed to notify A. L. Rummel to attend the next meeting. The auditor reports show monthly salary payments of 225 dollars to Rummel as city attorney and 1500 dollars in rentals due, not yet received, despite agreement to turn them over to the city.

Abraham Sissala Dies at Grand View Hospital
Abraham Sissala born July 31 1902 in Wakefield died Thursday at Grand View Hospital where he had been a patient for six months. Suffering from tuberculosis for over three years he was a laborer and sales agent earlier in life. Funeral arrangements pending as more family members return home, with services expected at the Lutheran church.
