Bruno Sampson 18th local man to give life
Pfc. Bruno Sampson was killed in action Sept. 20, official War Department word received by his sister Mrs. Tauna Pikka of Tobin Siding. He had been reported missing in action earlier. Born June 1917 in Wakefield, he enlisted August 1942 and served in France with Patton’s Third Army. His brother William Sampson, former township supervisor, also features, as does nephew Pfc. Eugene Sampson wounded Sept. 28 at Bougainville and hospitalized at Guadalcanal. may be moved to a U.S. hospital.
