The American Legion Geroux Post 11 hosted an Armistice Day roast beef dinner. Post-Commander Ed Blaskowski welcomed guests and presented three silk flags to fifty year members while speakers praised service and Armistice history.

Mrs. Jesse Sevison of Barron Wisconsin visited the James Randall home. Seee Puumala and Mr and Mrs Chester Zadra of Virginia Minnesota were present with their son Raymond Luoma of Wausau Wisconsin.
At Our Redeemer Lutheran in Bessemer Brenda Wakevainen wed Ted Miskovich on Saturday with a large reception at Lakeshore Veterans Hall. Guests from Washington DC and Minneapolis attended. In separate events Rev. and Mrs. Leno were honored at Immanuel Lutheran with a Sunday service and a post service program and tea.
The Chamber hosts a Christmas party on December 15. A separate basketball event involved Ontonagon on November 16.
The honor roll for the first marking period of 1973 74 lists top students across grades 12 through 7. Notable names include Richard Brown James Cormier William Creger Robin Dixon Keith Everson Laura Maki Arlene Martinson Lucia Monteiro Denise Beckman and many others.
Word received here of the death on Thursday of Mrs Walter H Weber formerly Della Simonson of Wakefield. She taught in Lower Michigan and was assistant principal in Detroit before moving to Florida three years ago. Surviving are her husband, a daughter in Naples, and three sisters. Funeral rites were held in Dunedin.

The Wakefield Chamber of Commerce held its November meeting at the American Legion Hall with 16 members. They outlined plans for a December 15 Christmas banquet at Lakeside Veterans Hall, a candy distribution on December 22, and a slate of winter events including ice sculpting, ice track auto drag races, log sawing, snowmobile races, and a Ski Flying contest aspiration at Copper Peak. Tickets will be sold at Sydella's, Mikelectric, Highway Shoe Shop, and Mrs Edna Smith.
The couple William Young and his bride Verna were feted at a post nuptial party Saturday night in the American Legion Hall with over 100 relatives and friends. Guests included Norman Petac Cleveland Ohio Roy Sands Milwaukee and the Andersons. The event followed their November 3 wedding at Immanuel Lutheran Wakefield officiated by Rev Wallace Leno.
Graduating class members in Wakefield are invited to write to Mrs. Clara Willa Box 116 by July 4 1974 to indicate interest in a reunion around Independence Day Plans for advance meetings will follow if enough interest is shown.
