An estimated 170000 Michigan hunters will enter northern woods on Wednesday November 15 to chase deer and bears. Verona Man Arrested As Hit and Run Driver
John Wilson of Verona was arrested Saturday night by Trooper Virgil Faircloth after he allegedly struck Mrs. Lambert Thomas and fled. He waived examination in Justice Gedda’s court and is bound over to circuit court for trial on $1000 bond. Mrs. Thomas, injured with a hip fracture, was treated at a hospital and later discharged.

Miss Catherine Wilson Injured In Auto Crash Near Iron Mountain
Dr. L G Wilson and Mrs Wilson rushed from Crystal Falls after their daughter Miss Catherine Wilson, a Northern State Teachers College student, was badly injured in a car wreck near Iron Mountain Friday night. The party of young women, returning from a show, swerved to avoid an oncoming car, went into a ditch, and struck a telephone pole. Catherine suffered a broken shoulder ribs skull fracture and other injuries, was taken to Crystal Falls hospital in serious condition, later deemed less grave, with a several week hospital stay planned.
