The Plymouth Parent Teachers Association hosts a Father and Students evening program on Contemporary Literature and mental defects in schools, presented by Miss Johnson Miss Nikula and Miss Murphy.

Inland Steel opens Milwaukee plant adding 700 jobs
Last week awards of fabricated structural steel reached 48 000 tons, the largest since mid July, while new inquiries totaled 22 000 tons. Inland Steel launched its Milwaukee Wisconsin plant on November 3, creating employment for 700 workers. The facility will run 24 hours a day on three shifts.

Lake Superior District Power to Build Wakefield Marenisco Line
The Lake Superior District Power company will start a 60 to 90 day work period next Monday to construct a power line from Wakefield to Marenisco. The project aims to ease unemployment in Gogebic range by recruiting local labor. Marenisco will gain uninterrupted service, with the plant there for emergency use until the line is completed. The L E Myers construction unit of Midwest Securities is handling the pane work between Winegar and Marenisco, paving full regional service by the utility.

Ore Shipments May Reach 48 Million Tons
The Lake Superior iron ore season is nearing end with most shipments to finish by mid November. Duluth Missabe & Northern will ship just over 20 million tons, Great Northern about 12,460 tons, Soo Line near 2 million tons, and Gogebic range output around 1.4 million tons, totaling about 48 million gross tons for the season. Wood-Osborn Wedding Announced in Jacksonville
This week announced the marriage of Miss Margaret L. Osborn to William A. Wood last Saturday November 1 at Jacksonville Illinois the home of the bride’s parents. Mr Wood an English instructor and basketball coach. The couple have moved to Wakefield and reside in the Kallander apartment.
Mrs. Gouza Funeral Set for Monday
Mrs. Martin Gouza died at the family home Thursday after a long illness due to dropsy. Born in Poland in 1879 she emigrated in 1903 and settled later in Wakefield with her husband. She leaves a husband a daughter Verna three sons Julius Joseph and Benjamin. Funeral services will be held Monday morning at St Mary's Church where she was active in church work.

Wakefield Township Tax Rate Drops, Total Tax Now Much Lower
Wakefield township plans a lower tax total of about 98 561 dollars for 1981, roughly 13 000 less than last year. The rate falls from 47.60 per thousand to around 20 per thousand, with taxes apportioned accordingly.
Steel plant capacity usage slips through the week
The week ended last Monday shows capacity at about 50 percent, below 52 percent in the prior period and 55 percent two weeks earlier. Steel Corporation runs a little over 55 percent, just under 58 percent last period, about 60 percent two weeks ago. Leading indents run roughly 47 percent, under 49 percent prior week and 52 percent two weeks ago, with overallSteel trailing at around 2 percent.
