Plymouth Mine Retiree Louis Osier Ends 28 Years On Shift
Louis Osier, aged 76, retired after 28 years at the Plymouth mine where he served as locomotive maintenance man and later heating plant custodian. Born July 12 1876 in Brentwood Ontario he began work in 1924 after seven years with M A Hanna as a shovel operator. He married Georgina Chouinard in Ironwood in 1906 and has two sons and a daughter. He plans to visit relatives and pursue hunting in retirement.

Mrs. Delores Ann Brennan was killed instantly in a head on collision at Stanley North Dakota. Her husband died Monday afternoon. The couple wed August ninth at Stanley. Leo Brennan and their son Jack left Monday night for Stanley to attend the funeral services.

Herman Tikkala 78 died Monday afternoon in the Plymouth mine dry. He was born January 12, 1879 in Vaasan Laani Finland and lived in the United States about 50 years. Survivors include his wife two sons a daughter six grandchildren and a brother in Finland. Funeral services were held Thursday at Moore Funeral Home in Bessemer with burial in Lakeside cemetery.

Grand View hospital names Dr. Kiyo Tashiro of Ithaca New York as tuberculosis medical director with arrival expected around November 9. He comes from Biggs Memorial hospital where he served as supervising TB physician and will need Michigan medical board clearance before practicing.
