Wakefield Library Receives Ritter Bequest for Reference Books
The Wakefield public library earned a $50 grant from the Clement B. Ritter estate to buy reference books. Twenty Michigan libraries were selected from 146 applicants, based on the will’s terms, aiding libraries with annual incomes under $2,500. Ritter, a Chicago book salesman, funded Midwest libraries similarly. Also noted are visits by Mrs. Ida Lehto to Chicago and Mrs. Peter Valesano of Milwaukee visiting Wakefield relatives.

Veterans' acts Council holds first Wakefield meeting

A Wakefield high school graduate in June 1942, he enlisted after graduation and trained at San Diego before heading to the Pacific. After furlough he will report to Klamath Falls, Oregon.
