Prom Committees Prepare Gym Decorations at Cardinal

Two weeks remain before the annual junior prom to be held in Cardinal gymnasium for the first time. Junior class committees work hard with invitations sent and many acceptances received. The decoration committee under Miss Nadia Thorpe plans balloons and lighting with volunteers sought. Patrons named include Mr. and Mrs. Stanely Tyack and several other couples.

Death Takes Old Resident of Wakefield

Charles Anderson, who settled in Wakefield 50 years ago, died at his daughter’s home Saturday at 11 a.m. Born May 18, 1860 in Vestmanland Sweden, he would have turned 75 today. He had been bedridden for three months after a steady decline since January. He helped pioneer the area on foot when roads were scarce, later worked as a nightwatchman and ran a boarding house for miners. Surviving are two daughters Mrs. Ivan Del Favero and Mrs. Peter Eischenbauch, and three sons Axel, James, and Peter, plus five grandchildren. Funeral services were held Tuesday at Immanuel Lutheran Church, Rev. Robert Byquist officiating. Bearers: Herman Johnson, John Charles Windberg, Albert Olson, Nels Walstrom, Charles.

Gogebic Receives $8065.66 From McNitt Law Award Share
