Mary Niemi daughter of Mr and Mrs Rinne Niemi Plymouth Location will attend Northland College next fall after earning a Northland College Scholarship and Educational Opportunity Grant. Her activities include Student Council president elect, Cheerleader, Pep Club, Glee Club, Future Teachers, Chorus and more. Plans for the class of 1942 reunion are under way at the American Legion Club rooms on River Street. The decorating committee meets Friday at 7 to prepare a rose and silver gala, with Mrs. Dorothy Batinich as chairwoman, Mrs. John Geroux secretary, and Mrs. Pat Negri treasurer. Ferris State College Grants 1273 Degrees at June Commencement
Degrees and certificates were awarded to 1273 graduates at Ferris State College Sunday June 18. Dr Max Lerner delivered the commencement address and Marvin L Katke received an honorary Doctors of Laws. About 7000 people attended the ceremony. PFC Daniel Negro Killed in Action in Vietnam
PFC Daniel L. Negro, 20, of Wakefield, Michigan, was killed in action in Vietnam on June 22. He enlisted in 1966, served as a paratrooper, earned a bronze star for an April battle, and was recently transferred to the 173rd Airborne Brigade. He is survived by his parents, two brothers, and a grandmother. Funeral arrangements are pending. Tax notices for 1967 will be issued July 1 through August 1 with a 1 percent fee and penalties after August 1.

Carl G Keski 41 of 506 Chestnut St Waukegan Ill died early Saturday at Wicks Mont while on vacation He was born Dec 6 1925 and served in the Coast Guard in World War II He married Sonia Sironen on June 13 1953 and worked for the City of Waukegan for three years He was a member of First Lutheran Church and the Disabled American Veterans Surviving are his wife three children Catherine Keren and Kevin his parents Mr and Mrs Nick Keski of Wakefield two sisters Mrs Leslie Wanink Wakefield and Mrs Ann Johnson Minneapolis four brothers Henry Wayne Wakefield William Butte Mont and Seaman lc Leonard serving in the Pacific area also several stepbrothers Funeral services were held at First Lutheran Church with burial at Lakeside Cemetery.
