Marine unit to train in first atomic test exercise near Nevada site
Pvt. Robert E. Rostallon will participate in the 4th Marine Provisional Atomic Exercise Brigade during the June 26 drills at Camp Desert Rock. Acting city manager Oscar Mackie led the council to drop the box alarm system as calls shift to telephone. The Michigan Industrial Bureau confirmed insurance rates won’t be affected by the change. Less than 10 percent of last year’s fire department calls used the alarm box. An August 1 effective date is set with residents mailed a colored postcard beforehand for reference.

Departing Pastor Frank Lunn and Family Honored at Farewell
