Local residents should visit the city clerk office to collect free park stickers. Cars require license numbers. Out of town residents and Wakefield Township incur a $1.00 charge for up to 9 days and 25 cents per day for electric hookups. Public plan notes the 4th of July events.

Mrs Raymond Haverty 43 Died in Colorado Springs
Former Wakefield resident Mary Laurich Haverty, 43, died Saturday night in Colorado Springs. Born June 16, 1924, she lived in Wakefield, California, Milwaukee, then Colorado Springs. Survived by husband Raymond, son John in U S Army, mother Mrs. Charles Laurich, sister Mrs. Lee Wilson, and three brothers. Funeral at Immaculate Conception Church, burial Lakeside Cemetery.

Attendees included her husband Mike, daughters Christine, Debbie, Kathy, and Michele, sister Margaret Mary Bugni of Highwood NL, Mr. and Mrs. O. J. Bugni of Merrionette Park Illinois, and Miss Beverly Rogers of Garden Grove California. Mr. and Mrs. Ernest Swanson returned for the summer after wintering in Florida.

Council Adopts 1968 69 Budget in Special Meeting
The Wakefield City Council held a June 10 special session at 7 p m to hear public input on the proposed 1968 69 budget and adopted the budget resolution unanimously. They addressed a drainage ditch issue, sewer concerns, and agreed to send congratulatory and sympathy letters, grant Eddy Park use for June 13, and note a Low Housing Development grant of 53 440 with July ground breaking planned. The county tax allocation was set at 001 mill based on state value.
