Final Day For City Taxes In 1927 Headlines
Saturday July 30 marks the final day for paying 1927 city taxes without extra penalties. If paid by then a one percent collection fee is added. After July 30, an additional one percent is charged each month the tax remains unpaid until it is turned over to the county treasurer as delinquent in March 1928.

The Charcoal Tron Company mill has ceased activity and US 2 from Watersmeet to Gogeble Station is shut, plunging Mareniseo into its sharpest business slump yet.
