Mrs. Oscar Kumpula 83 of Wakefield died Wednesday morning at Gogebic Medical Care Facility after a 13 month stay. Born Mary Bylkas January 17, 1889 in Calumet she married Oscar Kumpula in 1910. They ran Kumplla grocery in Wakefield before retiring. Survived by son Alvin Kumpula, daughter Mrs John Street of London, England, three grandchildren and one great grandchild. Indianhead six lesson ski program for 1971 season
Indianhead Mountain Corporation offers a six lesson ski instruction program for the 1971-72 season at a total cost of 2.50 per student. Classes run Thursdays after school at 3 10 p m with 10 to 12 students per instructor, transportation by school bus, dismissed around 4 30 p m. Parents should arrange pickup and payment goes to Indianhead Mountain Ski Instruction staff. The program is not a school function and the district disclaims liability for injuries.
