Only 21 Dogs in City License Tags Show
Wakefield reports only 21 licensed dogs in city limits as of now, with 42 licenses issued last year. Feb 28 is final day for dog licenses at city hall, and Drastic action will be taken to enforce the license law. City manager Don Brown says five extra days are allowed to comply, after which running dogs will be impounded and a one dollar fee plus feed and license costs collected before release. Owners able to dispose of dogs may notify police for action.

Seventh grade students organized a White Elephant Sale to raise money for care packages. They priced items, issued sales slips, and ran the store as part of social studies and math lessons. The sale totaled $55.66 and packages were sent to Finland, Italy, Poland, Germany, and France, with Ten dollar food parcels to each and Finland also receiving a five dollar fifty cent clothing package.

Rickey Koellner was honored at a fifth birthday party on Wednesday February 22 at his parents home Mr and Mrs Richard Koellner.
