Mrs Michael Krznarish returned from Kenosha where her parents Mrs and Mrs Onni Kujala cared for Mrs Kujala in hospital. Arlington Heights Charles Gosch Fred Bender and Bob Rietz visited Xavier Zazeski as they enjoyed skiing. Debbie and Dougie Nelson from Minneapolis visited grandparents Mr and Mrs Andrew Luoma. Pvt Carl Johnson recently finished basic training at Fort Leonard Wood and heads to Fort Gordon for duty. The Stannards return from a six thousand mile West Coast trip. Families gather for illness and reunions as community events continue.

Services Held Monday For Mrs Louis Libertoski
Funeral services for Mrs Louis Libertoski 42 of Bessemer formerly of Wakefield were held Monday at Immaculate Conception Church with Rev B Neil Smith officiating. Burial followed at Lakeside Cemetery. Surviving are three sons Patrick Kenneth and Dennis, a sister Mrs June Richard and her mother. Pallbearers included Lars Fiori Sylvester Magdziak Robert Magdziak Robert Obradovich Louis Menara Carl Johnson and Joe Ferlich. Out of town attendees came from Detroit Ironwood Odanah Milwaukee and Chicago.

J Arthur Fredrickson 81 died Tuesday at Gogebic Hospital after hospitalization since Sept 6 1963. Born March 25 1884 in Ishpeming he worked at Wakefield Tron Company Warehouse and Ferris Institute then served as purchasing agent for Wakefield Township Schools for 28 years retiring in 1949. Funeral Saturday at Wakefield Methodist Church with Masonic rites. burial Lakeside Cemetery.

Young Republicans Meet at St James Hotel
The Young Republican Club met at the St James Hotel on Monday February 14 with Keith Molin from the Michigan Republican State Central Committee as speaker. A debate followed on freedom of association. Members must be 17 to 36 to join. The Republican Party will meet February 22 at 7 30 p m at the Gogebic County Courthouse to elect a Board of Trustee and Treasurer and discuss the forthcoming election.

M G Weedle of Reserve Mining announces Raymond J Bertie will succeed F E McIntire as mine superintendent at the Babbitt division. Bertie, assistant superintendent since 1961, is a Michigan Technological University graduate with two BS degrees in metallurgical and mining engineering. He started as a mining engineer in 1949 and later worked at the Peter Mitchell taconite mine. Bertie and his wife Elaine reside at 43 Astor Road, Babbitt, with six children.
