Services Held for Mrs. Isaac Lahti at 72
Mrs. Isaac Lahti 72 of Route 1 Brotherton died Friday at St. Marys Hospital Superior after 11 days as patient. Born April 18 1890 in Yliviesa Oulu Finland she came to the United States in 1906 and married Isaac Koski in 1908 later returning to Finland. Surviving husband three sons one daughter two brothers and one sister 22 grandchildren and nine great grandchildren. The service was at First Lutheran Superior and entombment at Riverside Ironwood with spring burial at Winona Cemetery.

Sixth Annual Penny Carnival Was Held Saturday
The Wakefield high school music auditorium hosted the sixth annual Penny Carnival on Saturday evening with a Valentine theme. Avenues of games and five cake walks distributed prizes to students including Mike Golembeski Mary Lou Mezzano Albert Inkala Bonnie Seppa and Robin Solberg. Brenda Suoma and Ralph Willa were crowned queen and king with court members Bonnie Seppa Juliana Winpie Jack Berga John Koski. About 125 students grades 7 through 12 attended, and many helpers from Conservation Club led by Mr. Lauri Maki assisted in making the event a success.

Taxes owing to the county and school are payable at the city treasurer's office in City Hall through February 28 with 4 percent interest and collection fees. After February 28, books are turned over to the county treasurer for collection with penalties and interest.
