The Wakefield High School Band hosts the annual Clinic Band Concert at 8 pm in the Wakefield gym. Guest conductor George Cavender, University of Michigan assistant, leads a massed clinic band of about 90 students from Hurley Ironwood Bessemer Wakefield and possibly Ewen White Pine Mareniso.

Former Wakefield Resident Publishes Short Story Day of Trial
Mrs. David Carll of Stambaugh Michigan received a check from Fort Worth Texas publisher for Day of Trial, her first published story. She studied under Karl Puffer in February and March and belongs to the Iron County Writers Club. She will serve on a panel at the Upper Peninsula Writers Conference in Iron River Michigan and has studied with writers in Toledo and Las Cruces.

Mrs. Hilda Stephenson 71 of Highbridge Wisconsin died at Trinity Hospital Ashland Monday after aylng illness. A Wakefield native she is survived by three sons Carl Ashland Roy Minneapolis Reynold Louma Highbridge 16 grandchildren three sisters and one brother. Burial set for Thursday at Highbridge.
