Tractors Damaged in Early Morning Fire
Five tractors used in log hauling suffered fire damage when a shed heated by an overheated chimney caught fire Saturday. Three tractors owned by Axel Hill include two ten Holts and a 15 ton Monarch, while Cleon Motor Co and John Tuttu owned two smaller machines. About $20,000 in equipment was damaged but repairable, with no insurance for Mr. Hill. E. G. Hedquist visited Iron Ridge, Wis. Monday.

Budget Adopted by Wakefield Commission Without Dissent
The Wakefield city commission approved the coming year's budget with no objections from taxpayers. The $240,000 municipal administration plan for 1980 is funded mainly by $186,000 in taxes, with the rest from light and water revenues and other sources. To cover six months until tax collection, the city will borrow up to $93,000, repaid after August 1, and Mayor Hanson Pie reported on a trip to a national road show.

1929 Game Law Violations Report Totals and Fines
The Law Enforcement Division reports 3792 conservation law violators in 1929 paying fines and costs totaling 89165.58 with an average penalty of 23.51. December convictions were 211 with total fines 4985.85 and 305 days jail.
