St Marys church will hold three Christmas day masses at midnight eight and ten with Holy Communion at midnight and Benediction after the ten oclock high mass. Wakefield Woman Dies After Hospital Stay
Miss Sophie Radowski died in a Chicago hospital after kidney illness. She was 20, a Wakefield native educated at local schools, later employed in Marenisco. Michigan Legislature Passes Job Insurance Measure
The Michigan House approved the Murphy Haber unemployment insurance bill and sent it to the Senate. It sets payroll taxes of nine tenths of 1 percent in 1936, two percent in 1987, and three percent in 1938, with credits reducing actual rate to about 1 percent. Benefits begin 1939, up to 16 dollars weekly, minimum seven or six percent of prior quarter earnings, whichever is smaller. Exemptions include government units, farmers, and domestic workers. Employers may insure after three weeks’ unemployment with required earnings of 50 dollars in the prior quarter.
