H J Richards, superintendent of the Sunday Lake iron company, is reportedly promoted to head of the Penn mines on the Menominee range near Vulcan, four miles from Norway. The move, confirmed only by rumor, follows changes at Pickands company offices in Ironwood with other range officials expected to relocate to Duluth and Mesaba.

Arrests Made On Way to Wakefield At Ashland Station
Justice agents from Minneapolis arrested three suspects here on arrival, following a tip from a gasoline station operator in Wisconsin alleging theft of four quarts of oil. Most coins found were small denominations. Wakefield suffered its first loss of the season as Marquette stunned the local team 20 to 1, dampening hopes of a victory.

August Carr dies after long illness with muscular paralysis
Funeral services will be held this Saturday afternoon for August Carr who died Monday December 15 after more than 20 years of muscular affliction. He settled in Pennsylvania in 1858 and came to Wakefield in 1891 where he resided until his death.
