Michigan officers warn many under strict motor law
Morony told the Upper Michigan Law Officers Association in Negaunee that 4 565 people are under the financial responsibility law, mostly drunk drivers or unlicensed operators. Only 789 filed insurance certificates and many are deemed high risk. The two certificate types are owner’s and operator’s, with penalties including suspended licenses and no renewal until proof of financial responsibility. Nine offenses trigger license revocation, including manslaughter, drunk driving, perjury, and felony crimes. The act adds two extra offenses and continues on page four.

Relief report says 19 of 100 cases stay indigent in Michigan
A state relief administration study covers 192000 open cases through January and warns that 19 of every 100 on relief have no prospects of independence from public aid. Pat Kelly of Watersmeet township was elected chairman of the county board of supervisors for the coming term. He defeated Ralph Rowe of Tronwood township. H. M. Wick did not run. Kelly received 13 votes to Rowe's eight, Wick and J. P. Cloon did not vote. A later vote to make Kelly's election unanimous passed without dissent.

May 1 Opening Day For Trout Solons May Change
