Indiana Congressman Landis told 2500 in Chickasha that if Oklahoma’s new state constitution gerrymanders the state the president will not issue the proclamation for statehood. He warned Republicans could block statehood unless the drawing of districts is fair, criticizing gerrymandering as political.
Oklahoma City June 22 Special As the result of conferences of the brewery interest a determined fight will be waged to defeat statewide prohibition in the constitution submission. A meeting at Threadgill hotel last night attended by major liquor and brewery interests led by Henry Braun of Guthrie to organize a statewide campaign with Indian Territory expected to aid Oklahoma in preserving the 21 year restriction. The anti saloon league also intends a strenuous campaign. They suffered a setback when Haskell refused a prohibition plank at the Democratic state convention.

Four of the five boys arrested for burglarizing the home of Marshall Darrough Mr Pyle and Rev McGulloch pleaded guilty in Judge Gill s court and received three year terms in the boys reform school in Washington. One boy and the implicated woman refused to plead guilty and will stand trial.
J E McClure died this morning after a prolonged illness. Funeral services are set for tomorrow at 4 PM from the Presbyterian church. He was a hay buyer and shipper with many business associates and friends in the city. Tom Tom George of Barnesville commented on his recent primary defeat for district judge and defended his campaign methods, claiming the loss leaves him unfazed and with new friends.
K P lodge held last night meeting at their fall to create officers including C C Roberts V Oy Amos Prelate H A Partly and others. Mr Roberts and family plan to Coffeyville this evening to visit wife and baby son Dean. Avery heads to Carverville to visit wife and two sons then returns tomorrow. Armstrong attended Geo McCullough baby funeral. Mrs McCulloch is his state. D M Marre Jr has appendicitis and remains quite ill.
