Oklahoma City June 1 Democratic convention reporters say the resolutions committee settled conflicts over prohibition and school lands. A prohibition plank pledging enforcement if statewide prohibition prevails drew Haskell’s approval, while anti-prohibitionists threatened minority reports. The plank was endorsed by all committee members.
Judge Gill discharged the regular panel of petit jurors this afternoon as no more jury trials remain to be heard this term of court.
Collinsville June 19 special refers to Garfield issued rules for gas and oil leases in Indian Territory. A leading oilman in the Hogshooter gas district predicts the Cherokee nation will become a manufacturing hub as the new sliding scale aims to fairly distribute rates among producers users and allottees.
Collinsville I T June 1 The Collinsville girls issue a 50 mile radius challenge inviting rivals to meet here on July 5 for large prizes in a Beauty Contest. The local belles boast readiness to face competitors and flaunt the challenge to all contenders for the prize. Also note the McCulloch child remains seriously ill with little improvement.
In Giny Oklahoma on June 18 the Democratic state committee certified nominees to the convention after canvassing returns. Key offices include United States senators Robert Owen and T P Gore, Governor O N Haskell, and multiple state and local officials. The Osage draws for surplus lands begin in July with a wheel system for names and daily filings starting August 5, with opportunities to exchange selections under commission supervision.

Miles I T Ju 14 reported Charley Clapper and family arriving from Colorado. The baby died suddenly and was brought back for burial. Neighbors express deep sympathy for the bereaved parents. Last Sunday Mr and Mrs Hart had a frightening runaway horse incident, throwing both occupants from the buggy. Mrs Hart was not badly hurt, but Mr Hart was.
In Oklahoma City at the state Democratic committee meeting, J. J. Thompson of Pauls Valley was re elected chairman. W. L. Chapman of Shawnee became secretary. Ed Cassidy of Shawnee was named chairman of the campaign committee, with eleven members from five districts.
The regular semi monthly meeting of the city council was held last night. A board of equalization was named consisting of J. K. Taylor Henry G. Miller and George Niciffer. Street work was discussed and the street commissioner was authorized to pay a day for a man and team for street work.
Report states Mr Hart was thrown against and dragged along a wire fence sustaining several deep cuts. A doctor attending the case says recovery is likely soon if no complications develop.
Murgo McGirt a fullblood Creek Indian died Monday night after being shot in the abdomen by Holdenville marshal during arrest. The marshal is arrested and to have a preliminary hearing at Wewoka. McGirt left a will providing funds to prosecute his slayer, with relatives and community figures cited in the case.
