Stonewall Jackson tops Page County in five for district win

Stonewall Jackson High School defeats Page County in a five set volleyball thriller to pull into a three way tie for fourth in Shenandoah District. Megan Vresics served back to back aces in the decisive fifth as Kara Comer 16 kills and Kate Gordon 12 kills pace the Lady Generals. Page County's Kayla Dean and Maddie Dean lead Panthers with key hits and digs before the road victory. Page finishes regular season hosting East Rockingham and traveling to Luray.

Trailblazers top Lee in Valley volleyball

Spotswood High School improved to 7-7 overall and 7-3 in the Valley District by edging Robert E. Lee in four sets 22-25 27-25 25-18 25-22. Alyse High led with 12 kills, Tabitha Nelson added 10 kills and 4 aces, 2.5 blocks, and Bailey Williams posted 7 kills and 10 digs. Spurs play Waynesboro Tuesday and host Fort Defiance Thursday to finish the regular season. East Rockingham was swept by Stuarts Draft last Thursday, dropping to 9-7 and 7-5 in the Shenandoah District. the Eagles end the season at Riverheads on Thursday.
