What Jesus meant by coming to bring a sword in Matthew 10:34
The passage shows Jesus saying He came not to bring peace but a sword, a metaphorical division between believers and nonbelievers. True peace comes from reconciliation with God, while following Christ may cause conflict within families and society. His call demands costly discipleship, including bearing one's cross and prioritizing Him over all other ties.
