Elkton Accepts State Loan To Fix Long Neglected Sewer Plant
Elkton signed a 2.4 million loan agreement with the Virginia Resources Agency to fund a tightly regulated sewer plant upgrade. The plan includes a 350,000 unrestricted reimbursement and a restricted line of credit with payments tied to project milestones and state approval. Elkton must meet contract conditions, submit invoices for approval, and ensure end-of-project proof of proper use. Town officials say new equipment will double daily flow capacity, while revenue from water and sewer may be pledged to repay the loan.
