Church of the Lamb an Anglican congregation meeting since December has grown to 50 or more weekly in Elkton. Led by Rev. Aubrey Spears the church began from Church of the Incarnation in Harrisonburg and now partners with the Anglican Church in North America.

Elkton Field Day Set for July 8 to 11 at Blue Ridge Park
The 107th Elkton Field Day runs Wednesday through Saturday, July 8 to 11 at Blue Ridge Park. Sponsored by the Elkton Junior Order of United American Mechanics the event began as a sports gathering by the former Gables Hotel site. It grew to include a carnival and became a homecoming drawing crowds from the region and beyond. This year it was moved to the week after July 4 to avoid conflicts with other fairs per Doug Shifflett.

During the June 23 meeting the Shenandoah Town Council granted Ikey Parks permission to place a food truck on town property at River Park to service recreation guests. The permit requires Parks to obtain an Itinerant Merchant License.

Shenandoah Town Council Approves Meals Tax and Food Truck Rules
The Shenandoah Town Council ordered ceasing registration for meals tax and securing insurance. A food truck will not stay overnight but will enter and exit as needed. A $500 yearly license fee covers use elsewhere. The council approved consolidating lots 16 and 17 for Ron and Trudy Comer at 511 Seventh St with water and sewer connections. Barber crowned 2015 Miss Elkton Fire Chief
Elkton Volunteer Fire Company held the Miss Elkton Fire Chief pageant on June 25 naming Brandilynne Barber 2015 Miss Elkton Fire Chief. Barber, daughter of Steve and Sandra Barber, is a 2015 William Monroe High School graduate planning to attend Piedmont Community College and later Virginia Commonwealth University to become a photographer. Joining her on the Queen's Court are Ashton Taylore Eppard and Tammy Samuels. Scouts Dig Up 1987 Time Capsule at Stonewall Park
Girl Scout Troop 333 and Brownies uncovered a time capsule buried in 1987 by Girl and Boy Scouts at Stonewall Park. They opened a large Thermos and reburied it with items from Troops 426 and 815 and Pack 181.
