At the January 20 meeting Elkton Town Council heard Erin Yancey of the Central Shenandoah Planning District Commission describe the Gateway project as more than landscaping at the U S 33 and U S 340 intersection. The full plan targets downtown revitalization and restructuring beyond the intersection work.

Elkridge area library gets exterior upgrades
Spurred by the Elk ton Downtown Revitalization Corporation the Elk ton branch of the Massachusetts Regional Library on Shenandoah Avenue near Old Spotswood Trail underwent extensive exterior improvements. EDRC hired McDaniel Contractor Services to replace the stucco front damaged by storm and erosion. A metal cap was fabricated to seal the roofing and prevent interior water damage.
