Former Elkton man champions AA recovery and sobriety
Chris Mason, a former Elkton resident, credits Alcoholics Anonymous with his four year sobriety date of June 6, 2005. He spoke at a Bethel United Church of Christ AA meeting in Virginia, detailing his journey from teenage alcoholism to recovery, reuniting with family, and helping others by pouring out alcohol for a friend. Mason emphasizes the twofold purpose of AA: stay sober himself and aid others in achieving sobriety through shared experiences and the group’s program.
