Rinaca grew up helping in his father’s Shenandoah Bakery and met his wife, Billie Ann Burns, in 1948 at a Dances in Luray.

Contest winner inspires others from Masanutten
Steve America, 38, of Masanutten and Penn Laird native, won 15000 in a Walmart employee challenge in August. He authored a booklet on self-improvement in fitness, family, food, and money, dedicating it to his uncle Terry Gunn of Bridgewater. The Spotswood High School graduate plans to pursue life coaching after the win.

Batting Cage opens in Grottoes with four cages
The Batting Cave, a 6,000 square foot facility next to Grottoes Pharmacy, opened last week in Grottoes. Owners Austin and Tim Nicely and Larry Shifflett teamed up to create seven hitting areas and four full size 70 foot cages plus two dirt mound pitching stations. Tim Nicely notes it may be the county’s only dirt mound facility and already serves Little Leaguers in a baseball focused community.
