Richmond August 26 A large number of colored depositors had substantial gains in the closed Mechanics Savings Bank. Arrests followed for John Mitchell Jr president and A V Norrell Jr cashier among others. The bank was closed July 15 and receivers appointed July 17. alleged shortage around 150000 to 156000.
