Mrs N E Mays and companions enjoyed a delightful trip to the World's Fair returning Sunday night. Covington church groups report Epworth League of Ninth Street M H Church entertaining Corinthian Baptist B Y P A on Sunday evening.
The Public School of Covington hosted an unusual Fall Festival where many prizes were awarded to the needy children. The 10 Day Revival Service at Corinthian Baptist Church led by Rev. Mitchell of Delhi will close on November 16.
The Bureau of the Census reports national and state figures for Negro professionals in 1930. There were 54,439 school teachers and 25,034 clergymen among 11,891,143 Negroes, with distribution varying by state. Illinois led in physicians and lawyers, New York in musicians and nurses, and Texas in clergymen.
Through the Warren Urban League executive secretary Dean Yarbrough and Joseph A. Hall has been hired as a case worker by the Warren Family Welfare Association. He began work November 1. This marks the second Negro appointment by Warren social agencies this year after a Red Cross lifeguard post.
