Condorodis charged that on February 19 1918 he went to Seton Hospital for a severe cold and was sent to an operating room where an operation was performed by Dr DeCourcy leaving him permanently incapacitated. The trial reached the defense stage with Dr DeCourcy denying the operation and Dr J Clinton Staats admitting he performed it but testifying differently.

Dr. Robert R. Moton of Tuskegee Institute told Boston readers that lynching of Negroes in the South would cease in a few years. He noted governors of four states pledge no lynching while in office and criticized the use of the term brother as duplicitous rhetoric between races.
