Two major non Eastern bloc nations plan to push the We Charge Genocide petition on the United Nations Human Rights Commission agenda as a supplementary item. CRC executive secretary Willim L. Patterson said the move was disclosed from Paris. The petition, filed with UN offices in Paris and New York by Patterson and Paul Robeson, accuses governments of crimes against humanity.

Joe Louis confronted the PGA rule prohibiting nonwhite players at the San Diego Open. He and two other Negro golfers, Bill Spiller and Eural Clark, refused to withdraw, calling the ban un-American. Louis urged waiving the rule to allow exceptional players to compete, linking to Jackie Robinson's baseball integration.
A survey of 570 Negro churches in 17 southern counties led by Prof. Ralph A. Felton finds Negro women teaching twice as many Sunday School classes as men, nine times as many church societies, and fifteen times as many women in church societies, indicating higher female church activity.
Dr Laurie L Allen a son of Old Virginia, resident of Milwaukee, author of several papers on tuberculosis. His treatise on nontuberculous lesions of the chest was printed and copyrighted by the Wisconsin Medical Journal in 1950.

Dewey urged Albany to empower the State Commission Against Discrimination to apply the civil rights law to more public venues including restaurants hotels taverns roadhouses retail stores barbers shops hospitals theatres race tracks garages skating rinks bowling alleys and other amusements. Also reported two prominent African Americans died this week Dr Henry Dean who led UN economic development efforts and Dr Ralph J Bunche mourned after Dean's apparent suicide in Harlem with details of his workplace and death noted.
Probate Judge Chase M. Davies told the Knights of Columbus Luncheon Club at Hotel Metropole that no second probate judge is needed. He argued that dividing duties would cause confusion and expense while the court’s work remains current without extra salaries or administrative costs.
Boston Chronicle editorial urges posthumous Spingarn Medal for Harry Moore or William L. Patterson, arguing Josephine Baker deserves the honor for her role in advancing civil rights. Moore was murdered on Christmas night for NAACP activity in Florida. Patterson, longtime civil rights fighter, led anti Jim Crow campaigns and seeks UN action on genocide charges against U. S. government treatment of Negroes.
