Mrs H Coleman and Mrs Julia Ford improved from flu and can go out. Mr and Mrs Philip O Stark not well.

A New York transport report recalls the famed Sixty-ninth and the One Hundred and Sixty-fifth regiments pushing forward at Champagne. The Sixty-ninth suffered heavy losses yet pressed on, with the 149th field artillery praised for its barrage. Lt. J Sanford Bear of Illinois swam the Vesle to verify disguises, earning the Croix de Guerre.

Boston’s Fennels Place, a famed buffet bar near Devonshire Street, will close in May due to wartime prohibition. Run by John Fennel for 40 years, the venue hosted notable visitors who sampled the famed Combination drink of whisky and ale. Fennel, a celebrated wine purveyor, traveled Europe collecting rare bottles, paying up to 125 dollars for antique 18th century bottles.

Leavenworth Kansas report states the Baldwin family of William C. Baldwin, at the Soldiers' Home, has suffered heavy losses in World War I. A third son died of pneumonia at Camp Funston, two other sons were killed in France, and two daughters serve as Red Cross nurses overseas with one wounded by a bomb.
