Colored Brother Declares War on Lily Wares in Muskogee

Special to Tulsa Star reports that in Muskogee Oklahoma Colored citizens filed a full black Republican county ticket opposing the white Republican slate. W H Twine and others moved to file for every county office shortly after county chairman Myron White fled the white ticket. Twine pledged to oppose the white delegates and show Harding's allies that Negroes will not be squeezed.

Fire Ravages Lin Beggs District in Okla Incident

A fire originating in the Colored business area of Lin Beggs, Okla, destroyed four frame buildings and damaged three in the white district. Suspected incendiary act, water cut, delayed response, and cross-district tension cited. Loss estimated near $860,000. Fire service aided by Okmulgee and Sayalpa.
