Robert Hill freed on bond in Kansas federal case

State Board Contract Notes Sugar and Beef Prices
The State board of affairs awarded a contract last week for sugar at 824.05 per hundredweight for state institutions. Prices had been 16.86 and 10.00 per hundredweight three and six months ago respectively. The deal also included 1800 pounds of beef for the penitentiary at 13.61 per hundredweight, about two cents per pound higher than ten days ago.

Bartholomew Denied Writ Over Judge Candidacy
The state supreme court denied Bartholomews writ to compel McAlister secretary of the state selection board to accept his filing as a candidate for judge of the 28th judicial district.
