Rise of the All-Russian Agricultural Workers Union
The All-Russian Agricultural Workers Union formed after the 1917 revolution, evolving from primitive prewar efforts into a mass, industrially organized body. By January 1920 about 65 000 paying members were recorded, with estimates near 100 000 across Soviet farms, including workers in mills, blacksmith shops, carpenters, and other trades.
