Warden links Attica riot to Marxist influence

UPI reports Attica Prison Warden Vincent Mancusi told House Crime Committee hearings the September riot that killed 43 inmates and staff was inspired by Marxists or the far left inside and outside the prison. He said a national movement aims to undermine institutions and that Oswald later took charge, while defending his stance and disputing charges of derogatory language.

North Carolina protest march ends in mass arrests

In Greenville 75 civil rights activists were arrested for defying a local parade ordinance as they began a planned weeklong march to Raleigh in cold rain. They handed reporters statements condemning the ordinance as unconstitutional and tied the action to the August killing of a black laborer by a highway patrolman.
