The plan emerged after Western Communist rebels objected and set a date and agenda for the gathering. In Charleston South Carolina British author Gordon Langley Hall, who says he is Dame Margaret Rutherford’s adopted son, has undergone sex reassignment to marry his Negro butler John Paul Simmons nine years his junior. Hall, 39, known for a 1964 Jacqueline Kennedy biography, also wrote works on Princess Margaret and Lady Bird Johnson. A close friend suggested the union could be a publicity ploy to boost book sales.
