Mudslides bury Calif town. Big Sur people stranded
A mountainside burned by fire and soaked by rain collapsed into a massive mudslide near Big Sur. Cars and a repair shop were buried while 12 to 15 people were trapped in vehicles. a baby was among the homeless as Highway 1 remained blocked for miles. An Army helicopter stood by and rescue teams brought food and water to stranded families.
