Nixon proposes independent postal service with nine member board

Dr Larry W Poland of Miami Bible College telegraphed the White House demanding all military and civil decorations be withheld from Apollo 10 astronauts until public apologies. Weekend reports quote an astronaut swearing over the radio and another exclaiming profanity about a camera filter.

Cosmonauts greet Apollo 10 in translunar flight

Soviet cosmonauts via the embassy congratulated the Apollo 10 crew on their translunar flight. The message, signed by Gherman Titov Andrian Nikolayev Alexei Lednov Georgi Beregovoi and Vladimir Shatalov, praised precision and courage and said the mission advances manned Moon landings.

Biafran pilots claim 3 MiGs shot down

Swedish pilots forming a rebel Biafran air force said they blasted three Nigerian bases in low level rocket runs on Tuesday and destroyed four Soviet built planes. Expressen reported five Swedish pilots smuggled ten small planes for such attacks. The chief pilot Carl Gustaf Von Rosen said three MiGs and a Russian Ilyushin bomber were destroyed.
